How To Wear A Full Skirt: The Trend Your Favorite Celebs All Love

Celeb Full Skirtsit sometimes might seem that modern celebrity style is veering more and more in the direction of menswear-inspired, androgynously hip looks—boyfriend jeans, track shorts, and oversized button-ups are all having a moment in the sun. But there’s at least one piece that’s the ultra-girly diamond in the rough, and it’s been completely embraced by stylesetters and fashionable celebrities alike: the full skirt.
Our love for the style is well documented; everyone from Jessica Alba to Alexa Chung is wearing this key silhouette, and their impeccable ability to stylishly pull it off inspired us to take another look at the trend, and decipher the best ways to wear it.

Pair a playful print with solid accessories.

Because of its volume, a full skirt defaults to being the central piece of any outfit. Add in a bright print, like this floral style from Topshop, and the piece packs a lot of punch. For maximum pop, complement it with accessories and a blouse in solid shades.

Don’t be afraid to mix prints.

If there’s one style and shape that lends itself to successfully mixing prints, it’s a full skirt. Stick to more painterly prints for the skirt (like this one from Lela Rose), and minimalistic ones on top—the eye will still be drawn to the bold pattern on bottom, while the subtler one on top makes for great backup
